There are few muffins to beat the awesomeness of Rocky Road Muffins! The soft marshmallows, the sprinkling of chocolate chips and the crunchiness of almonds make these muffins such a delicious treat! Rocky Road muffins are the child's most favorite muffin ever. I guess the marshmallows in it do the trick and when I was listing down options of what to post with R, he said 'Mumma you have to post Rocky Road" for R and hence, here are the Rocky Road Muffins!   The internet states … [Read more...]

Frangipane Tart with Stone Fruit

Frangipane Tart is a classic pastry with the filling made with fruits and almond. Frangipane is essentially the word for the almond filling. This filling can be used in cakes, pastries and more often than not, in a tart. So this Frangipane tart has the goodness of fruits and almonds in it! I first made this years ago, after seeing it in what else, but Masterchef Australia and since then it is a regular feature in my parties and gifts. There are people who call me and say "Let us meet, since … [Read more...]

Citibank Restaurant Week India Preview : Republic of Noodles (Lemon Tree, Ulsoor)

A beautiful evening spent at Republic of Noodles (Lemon Tree, Ulsoor)! In the festivals that run, RWI is one of the oldest and in my opinion one of the most organised one too. Reservations for this year's RWI opened for Citibank's customers yesterday and open for general public on 18th i.e tomorrow. I was invited for a preview dinner for the same sometime ago and when I saw the list I so wanted Alto Vino which was predictably grabbed by Ruth, the most prompt and organised among us.  But, never … [Read more...]

Photo Review : Chinese Food Festival at Grand Mercure

A beautiful Chinese Food Festival at Grand Mercure, Bangalore! Grand Mercure is a hop, skip and jump away from my house and its fast becoming our 'lets go out for dinner for a change' place. The fact that they keep getting variety in the menu by having festivals often just adds to the charm. They are currently having a Chinese Food Festival which has great food. The festival is on till Sunday. Simple food and yet presented in a lovely manner. There was a live counter where you could … [Read more...]

Italian Feast with Chef Fabio at Bene, Sheraton

Italian Feast at Bene, Sheraton. Amazing food and beautiful desserts! I am huge fan of Italian food. In international food, right at the top for me is "South East Asian" and then comes right behind Italian. So its not surprising that, when I got a mail for the preview of the Italian Festival at Bene, Sheraton with visiting Chef Fabio Colace from Rome, Italy, I was excited.  The event's theme is "Traditional Italian Reinterpreted" and is running from 21st to 30th … [Read more...]
