Citibank Restaurant Week India Preview : Republic of Noodles (Lemon Tree, Ulsoor)

A beautiful evening spent at Republic of Noodles (Lemon Tree, Ulsoor)! In the festivals that run, RWI is one of the oldest and in my opinion one of the most organised one too. Reservations for this year's RWI opened for Citibank's customers yesterday and open for general public on 18th i.e tomorrow. I was invited for a preview dinner for the same sometime ago and when I saw the list I so wanted Alto Vino which was predictably grabbed by Ruth, the most prompt and organised among us.  But, never … [Read more...]

Sattvam : An afternoon with Sattvik Food

An afternoon spent having sattvik food at Sattvam, Bangalore! Interesting food options! I have no qualms in admitting that I like my meat A LOT. So when there are plans to visit a vegetarian place, that too a sattavik one, I am like what ? I feel I have washed all my sins for life in the few years when I turned a veggie. Now I don't need to start again. The fact that it's not very close to home didn't add to it either. Don't get me wrong. it's not that I don't like sattavik food, but for me, … [Read more...]

Rui Maacher Jhol - A Bengali-style Rohu fish curry that is a fish curry that is cooked with tender potatoes. Rui Maacher Jhol - Known as one of the signature dishes from the ever-delicious Bengali cuisine, this spiced fish stew is truly a dish that has my heart. A simple recipe laden with flavours, but truly comforting and soul-fulfilling in a way that only some dishes can.   The way the flavour of the soft tender potatoes mixes with the Rohu fish, it’s truly incredible and I … [Read more...]

Pav Bhaji with Homemade Pav Bhaji Masala

Pav Bhaji is a popular street food across India, especially in the West and when you make it with some homemade pav bhaji masala, you just can't resist it! Some days ago, when I was craving for an authentic Pav Bhaji, I posted on my FB Page asking which is the Pav Bhaji Masala which people prefer! There were a variety of responses and it seems like there was a divide between MDH and Everest. With both the parties backing their masala as the best, I must admit I got a bit confusion. Then Smitha … [Read more...]

Chianti Ristorante & Wine Bar

An interesting lunch at Chianti Ristorante & Wine Bar! Lovely Italian food! I had been watching the billboard of Chianti Ristorante & Wine Bar since it was getting constructed. I stay close to the area and the fact that in comes on my way often was adding to the temptation of going there. When, one afternoon I was talking to Suman that we should meet for lunch, she mentioned Chianti, I immediately agreed. It is situated just a little beyond the left turn on the Sukh Sagar road almost … [Read more...]

Meetha Gud ka Parantha BM#4 Day 7

Meetha Gud ka Parantha is my grandmom's recipe which is filled with so much love! Delicious dry fruits are powdered and added with jaggery to make a kickass filling and put in as a stuffing to create an amazing dish! What? Is it day 7 already? Time flew this time. A week just got over, without me even realizing it! And, like they say, it is best to end the meal with a dessert. So we end our marathon with something sweet too, a sweet parantha. The memories of this parantha for me go back to my … [Read more...]

Its that time of the year when you get fresh red strawberries every where you go.Those slightly tangy, sightly sweet, pretty looking red berries with a lovely green little leaf on top.
