Double Dhamaka & Weekday Cocktails

Two cocktails using Cointreau which are great for weekdays and weekends too! Yes, there are weekday cocktails for sure!

Who said cocktails are only for weekend? N and I love having lighter cocktails on the weekday evenings. It helps us relax and bond and for days like these liquors like Cointreau work beautifully. So yay to weekday cocktails!

weekday cocktails

Those are Cointreau Diabolic – a cranberry and strawberry based cocktail and Cointreaupolitan  – a simple cranberry based one.

Cointreau is a french liquor which was developed in the late 1800s in France. The perfect blend of the bitter and sweet orange peels in the liquor has been the result of many an experiments. The liquor is produced by the Cointreau distillery in France. Apparently, its production is still a family secret. I loved reading about this liquor’s history and how it was shaped into its current taste 🙂

This one is sure a special liquor because there are so many ways it can be used in cocktails. I love serving Cointreau cocktails for my parties and most people love the unique taste this offers to any cocktail blend. And if you serve it with fresh fruit juice, it sure adds to the taste 🙂

I am a big fan of cocktails, actually. Combining different juices and alcohol sure gives rise to some interesting flavors.

Like this amazing mulberry basil margarita I had tried in summer. The taste is so mind blowing and it is just perfect for the summer weather. Light, cool and fresh summery fruits! What more can one ask?

Or this Cointreau and vodka based cocktail I made and added some delicious cranberry and lime juice to it! A perfect Saturday night cocktail, if you ask me 🙂

Each cocktail is unique in its taste and I do believe that it is also unique every time someone else makes it. It is all about the blending and getting the right amount of ingredients. But whatever said, cocktails sure are a great way to unwind, to have conversations and to enjoy life in general 🙂
