The Making of a Roti

A pictorial way of making of a roti! Super amazing and so delightful!

Does this picture amaze you? At least it delighted me when I saw this in Gujarat recently. This are rotis being made -a lovely and innovative method. Let me take you through it pictorially. I call it ‘the making of a roti’!

The making of a roti

The rolling in the background, the tava to just warm up the rotis and the instrument for making them fluffy.

A little heat and off they go to get all fluffed up.

And they are ready and out. I loved the way it was being done and loved the way they tasted, soft and fluffy. And it is so amazing how the people were able to work on the rotis with so much precision. Quickly rolling, quickly putting it on the tawa and then taking the tongs to put them on the fire. Fluff they go up and what a delightful looking roti which comes out.

I am thinking, add a dollop of ghee to these and you have the perfect food option ready to eat!
