Pumpkin Sabji : Khatti Meethi Pumpkin Sabji for Poori

  • 500 gms yellow pumpkin
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tsp panch phoran
  • 3 green chillies
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp amchoor
  • Salt to taste


  • Peel, remove seeds an roughly chop pumpkins in large cubes. In a pressure cooker with very little water boil it for 3 whistles.
  • Let the steam escape naturally and then roughly mash the pumkin. Add salt and mix well.
  • In a small tadka pan, heat mustard oil add panch phoran, green chillies and red chilli powder. Once the seeds are roasted add to the pumpkin., mix and bring to boil.
  • Cook for 5-6 minutes till it is cooked well and add amchoor powder, served garnished with coriander leaves
