A lovely dish made from potatoes and dum-cooked! This Kashmiri Dum Aloo is fantastic :) Well, this was originally supposed to be posted on 15th for Indian Cooking Challenge that Valli hosts. This time dish being Kashmiri Dum Aloo, but you all know what happened to my camera, don't you? Palak Chutney

Palak Chutney is one of those accompaniments which tastes amazing with dosas and paranthas! Delicious and amazing! I love various forms of chutneys with dosas, idli and even paranthas :) So, I am always in search of good recipes. Also, since I am dieting (at least trying to eat sensible) and MIL has high cholesterol, the standard coconut and peanut chutneys are made very rarely in our house. So, I chanced upon palak chutney recipe in Sanjeev Kapoor's Rice, Bread & Pickles. I was almost … [Read more...]

Power Laddoo (post no 27)

Power laddoo is a delicious recipe which my mother came up with for fussy eaters! Ojas is a really fussy eater, hardly eats and when he eats it feels that he is the one who is always on a diet. This power laddoo is a recipe which my mom came up with. Ojas doesn't touch ghee and butter. Anything in which I put these two ingredients are refused point blank. Everyone has been telling me, he has become thin. But I feel as long as he is healthy, I don't care. But on his last visit, the doctor … [Read more...]

Methi Moong

Methi moong which is methi cooked with moong dal in a surprisingly light and dry sabji. Perfect with rotis and raita for a wholesome meal! Everyone in my family enjoys eating methi. I try and incorporate methi in my food in many ways. This methi moong was a result of us being bored of all our usual recipes. So I put on my thinking cap and tried to make something different. The result was very good and everyone at home loved it :) It's a simple and extremely healthy … [Read more...]

2 Minutes Fried Rice

A delicious fried rice made with leftover rice, which has delicious Indian flavors! I typically make this fried rice with leftover rice to give it a twist :) Though it seems to taste better when my sister makes it, nonetheless everyone at my house seems to love it even when I make it.     Just simple vegetables and simple flavors. Honestly, you can't find an easier option to using leftover rice. And it is so tasty. I can have it by itself, or just add some curd to the … [Read more...]
