Big Brewsky New Menu – The Rehaul by Chef Saby

Big Brewsky, the gorgeous open space at Sarjapur Road which has the perfect vibe for the neighbourhood pub has gone through a major menu rehaul designed by none other than Chef Saby. We checked it out a while ago and here is what you can expect in Big Brewsky New Menu ! And oh LOTS of gorgeous pictures in the post, may be that should be a warning !

Big Brewsky has always been always been a strange place for me. It is convenient, always super crowded but I always wondered what is that attracts people apart from the warm neighbourhood pub kind of feeling you get when there. I have always found the food average, the beer just about ok and the cocktails not much to speak for. And that is such a pity since it is a gorgeous space. Huge, open with a water body in the centre just perfect for Bangalore weather.

So when I got to know that Parvesh has taken over (more or less) and the menu getting an overhaul in the able hands of Chef Saby, I thought this might be Big Brewsky’s redemption. And it was. Few of us were invited to check out the new menu of drinks and cocktails before it was launched for everyone and we were all blown away by what was on offer. Cocktails so well balanced and experimentative, some of them even edgy. Karthik who is heading the bar right now, kept surprising us with one brilliant concoction after the other. I especially loved “The Great Pretender”, which had tequila, tropical juice, homemade purple syrup, egg white, fresh lime and thyme and “Yellow Jacket”, Big Brewsky very own whiskey sour with wait for it fresh turmeric in it

In the meanwhile, Chef Saby was creating his magic in the kitchen with outstanding starters. Plates of sushi specially the Black Rice Sushi blew my mind and honestly I will go back just for that as well. Then there was a beautiful African Suya Kebab, Fiery spice and peanut crusted chicken from the streets of Kenya, delicious and fiery in every bite. The Iranian kebab had lamb ground, spiced and cooked just right and had us all licking our fingers after eating one of those. The crystal shine dumplings were so clear and flavourful that I have hardly eaten anything closer to it in Bangalore I think. In the mains, the pizzas shone, the bacon wrapped chicken was so good that I would sit with it with a pint of beer and a book happily all afternoon.

I just hope that the food stays this good even when Chef Saby is not here, because if it does we have a winner on hand. A winner which would make even traveling to Sarjapur road worth it!

We had a great afternoon drinking and eating brilliant stuff and of course taking a million pictures of the food we eat. The light was almost magical and every picture turned out so well. And hence the warning in the start of the post. How can I not share these pictures with you πŸ™‚ So here, get set and glare…
