Beirgarten – Newest brewery in Whitefield

Beirgarten is the Newest brewery in Whitefield. Fresh and lively decor, good beer and great food. Just what the area needed. Whitefield’s cool new hangout!

We checked out Beirgarten, the newest brewery close to home a while ago. On a pleasant Sunday afternoon, characteristic Bangalore winter Sun and wind combination along with good Beer and food. It was an afternoon well spent. It was as if we have found what whitefield was missing – a cool new hangout !

Beirgarten

Beirgarten has four beers on tap – Wheat, Lager, Dark and Blonde. As we must, we started with a sampler. The beer’s had good body and flavour and my favorite was perhaps Lager.

We usually stick to lot of small plates along with beer and drinks when we go out and skip the main completely or order just one of it between the three of us. Beer and bites are pretty filling and a good combination anyways.

The child wanted to order the predictable fully loaded nachos and then who can say no to beer and nachos. These were chicken and they were fab. Loaded with chicken even if it sounds cliche to write, decent salsa which wasn’t very soggy and kept the chips crisp.

Chicken wings are my personal favorite when I am having my mug of beer. House special wings marinated in garlic, pepper & herbs served with a garlic paprika dip. It hit the right notes to kickstart the afternoon.

Now that two of us had chosen our orders, it was the man’s turn to pick one dish. Yes we play enki pinki ponki and it’s your turn to order food sometimes. What you want to laugh, ok go ahead but every family must have a way to figure out the ordering and this is ours 😉 So the man picked, fish tikka which wasn’t bad but wasn’t mind blowing either. The good thing was that it wasn’t basa but somewhere lacked the flavour depth.

The lager, my drink for the afternoon

The child’s favorite starter for that day was the Prawn Pil Pil, prawns cooked in chilli olive oil and served on a good toasted baguette. And I have to agree with him that it was delicious, it only helps that we are all big sea food fans at home

For me and the man, the showstopper of the day were the Lamb Shanks. Meat falling off the bone, seasoned well and served with an excellent herb jus. Just the note the main course should have hit.

And just because a meal must end with a dessert, even if one is full we ordered a chocolate bomb which was served with a good vanilla ice cream.

Beirgarten in my opinion not just fills that hangout gap in Whitefield, it can also become a motivation for the people from the town to come visit us. The beer and the food are both worth it
