For the ground masala

  1. In a cooker boil washed rice and moong dal together with 4 cups of water. Bring it to one whistle and cook on low heat for another 5-6 minutes
  2. Grind together all the masala ingredients and keep aside.
  3. Once the khichdi is boiled, add the ground masala and salt. Simmer for 4-5 minutes. Serve hot with aloo and curd.
Recipe Notes

If you don’t have brown sesame seedsĀ use a 1:1 mix of roasted white sesame and black.
