Omchilla is a combination of an omelet and chilla, a perfect breakfast idea 🙂
Weekends are typically egg breakfast day at our house. N loves his eggs and on the weekdays, the breakfast is usually some bread and jam or stuff like that which can be eaten while driving 🙂 So we make sure we get our dose of eggs in the weekend. Usually, it is the bulls eyes or the omelet or sometimes, the french toast or scrambled eggs. N decided to innovate a couple of weeks back and came up with something called a “Omchilla”. If you are wondering what it is, it’s a cross between an omelet and a chilla. I am thinking of copyrighting the term.
And while we were on the Omchilla, I got super inspired and tried making some stuffed omelets. It is just stuffing the omelets with some delicious vegetables and then adding the spices which you like and creating a magical breakfast!
I love my weekend breakfasts, because we do try new things when we can. Whether it is making some delicious masala French Toast, or ragi vermicelli, we do make it all 🙂 I do feel that when we look back on these days when we grow older, our fondest memories would be that of creating dishes together as a family and eating it! I love the fact that O and N love to work in the kitchen alongside with me!
And honestly, it is such amazing quality time to have. I am a big fan of letting children into the kitchen to try their hands in cooking. With adult supervision, I believe children should be allowed to explore cooking. When they cook by themselves, they are more inclined to eat what they make. Just inculcates good eating habits in children! So cook as a family and enjoy the quality time together!
