Menu of the week 31st August – Recipe Links

Menu of the Week for this week, along with the recipe links!

This week’s menu of the week is a mixture of a food from the north, south, east and west of India πŸ™‚

Menu of the Week

Pav Bhaji

Hung Curd Sandwich

Methi Khichdi

Zucchini Chutney

Rajma Chawal

Delhi Style Matar Kulcha

Poha

I try to keep a mix of Indian food  and non-Indian food when I am planning my menu. Especially for breakfast, it can be a typical Indian breakfast of poha or can be some scrambled eggs Indian style or just some pancakes. The child in the house loves pancakes and we usually end up making it often on weekends.

And I do keep some days flexible because we do end up going out for lunch or dinner and I have some working lunches. I realise I do have eggs for breakfast so often. Eggs can be made used in so many different forms isn’t it? You can add veggies of your choice to omelets and make them so healthy. Or boil some eggs, sprinkle some chaat masala on it and you can even pack them for lunch box. Or you can make some yummy sunny side up and add some pepper and salt and dig in πŸ™‚

And we do love having soups and salads during meal times. Put in a batch of garlic bread and the kid loves it for sure. And just to keep things interesting, I also try and see if I can add some street food once a while. I am a bit fan of street food, no matter which part of India it is from. I love pav bhaji from Mumbai just as much as I love jhal muri from Calcutta πŸ™‚ And being a Delhi girl, I sure like my matar kulcha too! So street food is a big hit in the house πŸ™‚

I hope this menu helps you plan for your week as much as it will help me πŸ™‚
